Quidditch, was actually founded in a small place called "Queerditch Marsh".Though...the golden snitch was introduced much much later,the game was still a mega hit.Starting off slow,the game grew to be one of the greatest "broom games" in the entire world.The idea of the golden snitch came to be, when a small but amazingly swift bird by the name "Golden Snidget" was released on the field.if caught,the "catcher" (now called seeker) would recieve one hundred and fifty Galleons.But when an activist grabbed the snidget and ran,no one recieved the prize.But today in memory of those galleons, who ever catches the snitch gets 150 points.But when the snidget became endangered, the Minstry of Magical Games and Sports had to step in.They banned the snidget from being used.So a man named Bowman Wright stepped in and made documents of how to make the snitch.His idea was put into action.
